Infiniti Radio/CD player

So recently my 03 G35's cd player died on me with a CD ERROR FO error and according to the dealer it will take approximately $600 to replace/fix. I was wondering if maybe I can add in an after-market stereo system (tuner+cd player). I've heard that the g35 radio/cd players are connected to the AC system and the navi, so I was wondering if it was possible to add in an after market system without any problems.

.... What do you think man. Of course you can add an aftermarket stereo system, do you know how many people have already done it?.. Are there any modern cars you CAN'T install an aftermarket stereo in???

You need to buy a Double Din face plate and an AC controller from someone like Riverside Infiniti. You can then install any CD player you would like. It is expensive, around $265 for the kit, but when most people spend more than $1k on a system that is not a huge additional cost. You can get kits that will allow you to continue to use your steering wheel controls, with the right Head unit.
