.wma or .mp3 in factory bose HU

Will the factory Blose (2005) HU read .wma files or will it read only .mp3 files. If only .mp3 files, is there a easy and FREE program to convert them? Can you save them off Windows Media Player as .mp3?

I believe it is compatible with both wma and mp3. But if you want to change them to mp3, you can use windows media player to convert them.
