Question Sound System Upgrade help

I currently have the Bose speakers and amp, with a Pioneer AVH-6800 head unit. I am looking to improve on the bass and overall loudness of the system. Sometimes when i turn up the volume, the speakers start to crackle when it is not even too loud. I don't know if i should keep what i have and just add a better amp and sub, of if i should just replace all the Bose speakers. If any body has any sujjestions please let me know.

For the best sound, it will be best to replace the Bose speakers and amp and add an amp to power the new speakers and a sub.

I'm bringing this thread back.

I have a D3 with the bose speakers. Planning on upgrading to some infinity kappa perfects w/ a 4 channel amp. I'll be adding another amp later for 2 subs.

I'm having a friend (who does this for a living) install my speakers. He has never done this on a G tho, so he wasn't sure how much it would cost b/c he said he may have to re-wire it, but sometimes u can just use the existing wires. Can anyone clarify? I'd like to leave it in such a way that lets me go back to the Bose system when I decide to sell the G later on.

Run new wires! It's a pain in the ace but well worth it. You can leave the stock wires right where they are and when you sell the car hook the stock speakers back in.

Other than the speakers and amp, what do I need? What kind of wires do I need? Do I need some kind of amp kit or anything?

your installer should know everything you need. you will run the audio signal through RCA cables instead of the OEM harness.

You can run new speaker wire to the front speakers, but it's not a fun job fishing it through the molex connectors. It's easy to run new wire to the rear side speakers. So you can run new wire everywhere except the front speakers and use the OEM speaker wires to send the signal up there. Tap into the OEM harness at the Bose amp.

Thanks Gilley.

I was hoping to order everything in advance so I didn't have to buy anything from him (he doesn't have much control over prices)
