Just wanted to share my excitement with you guys!

Hey everyone! First off, I dont post on here much but read the forum at work and most nights before going to bed. Thanks to everyone for all the advise you've given and for giving everyone the resources needed to complete the install I'm doing in the next 2 days(hopefully it doesnt take that long!)

Anyway, I feel like a little kid that got his most wanted gift for Christmas right now! I finally have all the pieces to the puzzle that I've been slowly building! Here's what I put together:

Black dual din kit from Japanparts
Headunit: Kenwood DNX7100(wire harness, antenna adapter)
Comps: Alpine Type R 6.5 for the front, not sure what I'll do for the
rear door speaks yet.(went with Type R cause I already hadthem)
Sub: JL Audio 12W7
Sub Amp: JL 500/1(I know, I know...should've went with the 1000/1!), JL audio bass ****

I'm running all new wiring to the doors, RCA's to the trunk for the amps, power wire from the battery, etc. Basically doing the entire install. During the first half of the Giants/Cowboys game I covered about 70% of my trunk with eDead( I think that's what it's called). By the way, anyone think I should do 2 layers of it in the trunk? Is it worth the time/effort?

Ok guys, I'll post pics of the process and the final outcome once I'm done...hopefully in 2 days!

P.S- If anyone has any final heads up, advise, recommendations or steps that would save me some time/effort in my install....please feel free reply with such info!

I've got an 04 sedan with Bose. Any suggestions on making this easier or not having to run new wires to the doors?

based on your post, and dont take the wrong way, i think you dont have a ton of experienec in car audio but have read plenty

my word of advice: TAKE YOUR TIME! be patient, thing wont go smoothly , heck things still dont go smoothyl for me everytime after all these years, dont get frustrated

if you need help, post on here and we can help you... i have seen too many DIY installs go wrong and ending looking/sounding horrible becuase lost of patience...and let me tell ya, the G isnt exactly the easiest car to work on

good luck and keep it clean

Not taking that the wrong way at all. Thanks for the advise. My install skills are definitely not at a professional level, but I can complete a clean install and have installed a similar setup in several cars before with no problem. Like you said yourself though, the G isn't exactly the easiest car to work on...that's for d*mn sure! I mean look at what a pain it is to simply convert to a dual din head unit! Anyway, will keep you all posted as I'm sure you are curious to see whether or not I'm gonna burn down the G! Pray for me.

Hey bro...the black DD kit is for cars with black interior. And for some reason, probably supply and demand, it is much harder to get a hold of than other DD kits. Riverside does not carry them any more according to Tony and I had to wait around 3 weeks to get one from Japanparts.com

After approx 16 hours of work, I'm finally finished! Nothing professional but looks clean. Pics to come. Whoever said this was not an easy install...what an understatement! It's not rocket science but takes patience and more patience....and time.

The only bad news(so far) is that I screwed up when soldering the dual climate control button onto the new A/C controller. Not sure what I did but I somehow mananged to strip the circuit board of the tiny little metal thingies that I was supposed to solder the button to. Really pissed about that!! Other than that, glad to be done and would not do another install in a G even if someone offered to pay me!
