My G35 Sedan and an iPhone
Hi guys, I'm new to these forums. I just got my 2004 G35 Sedan a couple months ago and I'm loving it
I've been looking for ways to integrate the functionality of my iPhone with the car. Ideally I would like to be able integrate bluetooth for talking on the phone, and use my iPhone for music. I'd also like to be able to continue to control the music using the steering wheel controls.
After a bit of research it seems like there are a couple options:
1) Cheapo way, get a bluetooth headset and a tape adapter to plug in my iPhone. This seems far less than ideal.
2) Get a new deck for my car, customized by a car audio shop, and have a mount somewhere in my car (like on the dash somewhere) to plug in the iPhone. It looks like I can add bluetooth through this as well. This seems reasonable, but the quote from the car audio shop seemed rather expensive to me. I'm still willing to go with this option, but I'd like to find something cheaper if possible
3) I read somewhere you can do everything with bluetooth, including controlling the audio. But I've read conflicting reports on this, some saying the audio through bluetooth only comes out mono. That doesn't seem like it would work well at all.
Does anyone have any suggestions for how to set up the iPhone to work with my car without resorting to cheapo methods? At the very least I'd like it to look relatively slick as well as have my steering wheel controls available.
Thanks a lot!
