Can a hardwire to the home link be possible with V1 original packaging

I don't have V1 but I do own Escort x50 and I hardwired it directly to the homelink cable using a regular cut-off phone cable.
You can't use the original V1 wire to tap the homelink. You will need either invisicord (~$14) or in my case, I just used a regular telephone cable (black color preferrable), cut it according to my need and tapped the wires to the homelink cable directly.
Look at the image below.

I am using a regular phone cord because I have bunch of extra phone cords laying around the house. It does not cost you if you already have it and it works as well. With the phone cord, you will have to tap the green and red wires to the homelink wires.

I've had the V1 wired this way for over two years and 50,000 miles. The amp draw on the V1 is TINY. I prefer soldering as the connection is super strong. Also, there's nothing wrong with buying the a kit or using what came with the V1, but neither is hardwiring it. It's fused, on switch power and stealthy.

Use this as a guide:

If you cut the extra cable open, you'll see the same red and green wires. You will have to make your own taps unless you can find taps thin enough to work, or are willing to cut open the harness wires and hardwire the cable instead of just tapping into the harness.

Hi Everyone,
We're a new sponsor here at G35driver and to celebrate we're offering 30% to all G35driver members.
Rather than splicing into your factor wiring harness or running a wire from your fuse box, the SRD cord from Stealth Cords is a discrete power cord solution that connects your compatible Radar Detector to your factory powered rear view mirror.
Our sale runs into the end of Feb - so don't miss out.
