LOC Question

Hey guys, I'm purchasing wiring for my audio setup and was wondering what's the best LOC? Also, with a 2 amp setup, should I get a 4 channel LOC and run 2 separate RCAs or, would a 2 channel LOC work if I go out of the preamps from 1 amp to the other? Which option gives a better/cleaner signal? Amps are JL Audio 500/1 and 300/2

Re: LOC Question

I have 2 amp setup + Infinity Bassklink powered sub, my pro car audio install crew went with 2 channel VEN4's. If they do it right, there should be clean signals and no alternator whine whether the LOC is a 4 or 2-channel.

Others may have different setups with differnt results.

Re: LOC Question

I went to a car audio shop yesterday to get a quote on an install of speakers and my JL 300/4 and 250/1 and they recommend the Ven4 as well. I asked if using the line in inputs of the JL amps would be sufficient and he said that you will get no noise using the Ven4 which is what I will go with. Nothing worse than hearing alternator whine.

Re: LOC Question

from what I hear soundgate is one of the best out there, pricy though. I've used stinger LOCs in the past and have had no problems with them and they did not intoduce any noise.

Re: LOC Question

What also helps eliminate alternator whine and interfernce noise are the type and quality of the RCAs you use. I used StreetWires ZeroNoise 3 RCAs from the back of my aftermarket deck to the amps in the trunk running it down the driver side (vs. the amp power cable from the distributor block down the passenger side).

Sure the ZN 3's are a bit more expensive than RadioShack RCAs but now I have exactly what they're meant for,

Hope this helps.
