Are they the only vendor selling a DD unit? I know riverside sells them, but dont know who to talk to now that Jason is gone. What do these usually go for? Also, i have a bose with Nav, do i need a different DD unit?

Question: Why do you need the JDM AC controller? Is the shape different to only fit the double din setup? Just wondering why the US spec AC controller won't work.

 

the ac controller is sep from the radio on the jdm piece...the us piece is all one unit so when you take it out you wont be able to control the ac

wow.. And I thought I paid a lot when I paid 40$ for my z1 install kit for my tC...sigh.

are there any kits that are basically plug and play when it comes down to finisher?

 

As far as I know, there's only the Metra kit and JDM kit.

 

It looks like theres a black plastic trim around the unit, is that part of the JDM dash kit or is it part of the avic Z1 that happened to fit perfectly into the JDM dash kit?

 

is there another one coming out soon from pioneer? like a z3 or somethin?

 

That's steep, especially without dual climate control.

 

It's part of the AVIC kit and does not fit well in the JDM DD finisher. Everyone complains about it. I just had my D3 installed and I think it uses the same sh*t fitting trim ring. My installer did a great job with it.

 

the z2 came out just this year, so I doubt they will be releasing anything like z3 in near future.

 

oh...ok imma going to eventually do dd kit but probably not until after summer...just checkin to see if anything new was coming out soon
