AVIC D-3 Installed

Last week I picked up an AVIC D-3 HU and yesterday I got it installed. I was able to get the DD Finisher with dual climate control aleady installed from another forum member. Additionally, I added:
CD1200 Ipod Interface
CDBTB200 Bluetooth Adapter
PAC SWI-PS Steering Wheel Control Interface.
GEX-P10XMT XM Radio/Nav Receiver

The HU was a very good deal at a little over $500. The Ipod functions are outstanding, the NAV works very well and better than I expected and the bluetooth is good but I think I need to play with the mic location. For the price though, I don't have any complaints.

Jimmy at Xclusive Autosound & Security in Miami did the install and I highly recommend his skills if your looking to have audio work done in the South Florida area.

Here's some pics of the before, during and after.

Thanks and I appreciate your feedback on my previous thread when I had questions about the D3. It's a great unit and can't go wrong for $500!

Very nice! That is one of the first things on my list.
Can you use the stock bluetooth and Sat Radio with this?

Easein2itG, what else did you need with the D3? Is there a wiring harness? Double Din Kit? If so where can I get them online cause i got a good deal on the D3 at bestbuy but i need everything else. Thanks in advance

You do need a DD finisher. I happened to get one that had dual climate control. PM Tony at Riverside Infiniti can get the JDM finisher. Other than what was listed in the OP, I needed a Nissan harness and an antenna adapter.

Not sure if the OEM bluetooth and Sat are compatible but the unit supports both using Pioneer components. Maybe another member has had success.

Looks good! The D3 is by far the best bang for the buck out there as far as DD nav units are concerned! Enjoy your new toy!

^Thanks. I can't agree more for a $500 HU. I had a lot of fun with it over the weekend.

Hey man, glad it worked out. Mine should be here tomorrow.
I too am curious how much the install ran you?

Looks like you have the Bose system. Are you still using the Bose amp? If so, did you use an adapter?

One more question, where is your nav antenna located?

Thanks
Tyson

This is the shop I used to do the install. Out of fairness to Jimmy, I'll say his rate was very reasonable and the job was excellent. If you're in the area, I'd call him directly.

I'm still using the Bose amp for another couple of weeks until I get the Boston unit.

The Nav antenna was located in a small cubby behind the temp display panel. Jimmy knew right where to look for it. The reception is excellent.

Good question, I am wondering the same thing for 06's and up is there a way you can still use the bluetooth answer from the steering wheel?
