simple trunklid display

I wanted to spice up the underside of my trunklid a little bit for shows. I had my friend cut the metal plaque piece on a waterjet and then had it powdercoated. I had my other friend fiberglass me a new underside trunklid piece using the oem carpet piece to help shape it. The metal plaque now sits inlayed into the underside trunklid piece, pretty flush.

Here we are shaping the fleece

Here is the piece on the trunk with the fleece ready for resin. You can see where the metal plaque will sit inlayed.

Here it is, after it has hardened. We wrapped it in the same carpet as what comes on the 4080 sub box.

Test fit of the plaque in the space.

This angle shows how flush it sits in its space

Here is the final revision. Added white behind the plaque to match the car. It's hard to see the curves and depth of the piece in pictures...you can realize it better in real life

Very cool idea...I think you should add more to it...Lighting maybe, or something to make it stand out...
