Mounting Pioneer XM/NavTraffic Tuner GEX-P10XMT
I just ordered the GEX-P10XMT from ebay. Where did everyone mount the tuner? Under the dash or in the trunk?
If you mounted it in the trunk, did you have to buy the extension serial cable? The stock cable is only 8 feet long. Is that long enough to run it from the trunk to the back of the radio in a sedan? Doesn't seem like it would be.
The extension cable is 20 feet long, but is $50 (part CD-600DC).

Regarding the location of the XM antenna: I already have one located on my roof, near the driver's side "C" pillar. I'm not sure if it's because I'm so far East, or whatever, but unless the antenna is on the roof, I loose reception a lot. It's different with GPS because there are multiple satellite locations, so inside the car is ok, but since there is just one XM satellite, there is less room for a blocked signal.
