Highly recommend the Valentine 1

Just took my first road trip with the new radar and WOW all i can say is why didnt i have one of these sooner...the product is amazing.

The Radar tells you where the threat is coming from and how close. I must have seen 10 fuzz on the way up and back that i would have never seen with out the radar.

All in all I HIGHLY reccomend the Valentine 1 radar detector for all those with heavy feet

big ups to 07silverg for the heads up on all the info and install

You might have swayed me to pick one up. I've been researching the V1 and Bel STi until I'm blue in the face!!!

I don't have a RD. I had a Bel RD over 20years ago and a cop 'slapped me on the hand' and confiscated it...all in all, I caught a break in that regard. They are illegal here (if you get caught with one)
My questions are, how much warning time/distance do you get with them now and can the police pick you out of a crowd on a busy interstate? Thanks

To the OP or anyone else, how well does the Valentine 1 see the other side of a hill when approaching the crest, or in a high speed somewhat tight corner? Thanks

I'm I the only one that thinks Valentine 1 and Magellen need to come out with a nav/radar unit w/ map capability? That would be nice.

Don't forget the Escort 8500 X50 or the 9500i both top of the line along with the V1.

I have been a stanch 8500 supporter for many years. BUT.... three units with "service required" on the front will make my next purchase a V1.

THAT would be the bomb and would be the only reason I'd ever give up my precious V1.

To those that recommend the Escorts, don't forget that unlike Escort, the V1 is upgradable to the latest and greatest for a much reduced fee. I've had my V1 for about 5 years now and just before Christmas last year I sent it off for an upgrade. I got a brand new unit back, with new mounting hardware, etc. for only $175. V1s are the way to go for RDs... I also use it on my sport bike with a 117db external speaker so I can hear it over the bike.

Gotta love it.
