new setup...

My system set up..

OK I’m kinda of a newbie at this whole ICE stuff so I’m gonna keep it simple.

Problem: My 03 G35 HU keeps getting jammed with CDS I put into the disk changer.

The Solution: I went out and picked up a AVIC-D3 cause it was on sale for like six bills. So I wanted a DVD and NAVi so to get the best deal I can find.

Here are the questions I have.

1. Dose anyone shop from Amazon.com for audio equipment?
2. For the navi to display current traffic would I need the following? GEXP10XMT XM NavTraffic Tuner
Amazon Amazon

3. Total cost for installation is around 6 bills (630.00) including the DD din kit and antenna kit to be exact, is this an average price or am spending too much?

Has anyone installed this kit them selves, if so any DIY documentation?

Oh yea I am lookin for a good stealth sub unit for a coupe.. what u guys recommend?

DD kits varies from $200-$300...but how much of that did they say the antenna kit was for? I'm thinking it just an antenna adapter. I got mine for about $7. I haven't actually started on the install, still waiting for all the stuff to come in.

Depending on the DD kit, your actually paying $300-$400 for labor. I've never really shopped around for labor since i try to do everything myself. So, I'm not sure if that's a good deal or not.

DD kit is $265 from Grubbs. Antenna adapter I got for $11. If you want steering wheel controls as well that's another $60-$70. I'd say $150 is the max I'd pay someone to install a head unit.

You might want to consider the Ipod cable and the bluetooth while you're replacing the HU. The Ipod functionality is very good with the D3 as well as the bluetooth.

+1...$150 for any type of headunit with dvd capabilities.. $50-75 for a regular headunit.

i think the DD kits he is sellin me is 250 don't know how much for the antenna adapter but in parts im lookin at 320.00

so they told me that each speaker has an amp that have to bypass thats why labor is so much..

but if i add the unit for the traffic and blue tooth could i do that myself later?
