I'm in the process of researching different in-dash DVD players/monitors. I have seen a few which have USB inputs, and which allow you to browse and play mp3 files on a connected USB drive. Does anybody know of a unit which also plays video from an attached USB drive? I have seen a lot of head units will play Divex file, etc. if burned onto a disk, but none seem to play through USB.

 

So I guess the long and short of it is no. Unless someone can point me in the right direction....

 

I haven't seen a HU that plays video off of a USB. The closest thing to that I've seen is using an ipod to play movies.

 

USB protocol does not enough bandwidth to display any decent video signal. that's why any USB laptop docking station that has a VGA out is capped at 800x600.

 

Not an in-dash DVD player but you can get a visor LCD/DVD that comes with a USB and SD/MMC reader. I used to have one in my minivan but the DVD player broke after 2 months of use. Now, I only can play movies (DIVX format) & MP3s thru either USB or SD card.
