Pioneer AVIC - N1

Anyone gotten one yet?

My friend's shop got 14 of them and has put 2 of them in already. Says they are okay.

Im thinkin that they arent goin to look so great in our cars beacuse they are all black. i was thinkin bout gettin one but i dont think im goin to anymore. prolly goin to get AVH-P7500DVD and the AVIC-80DVD instead.

what you guys think about this setup and the N1?

Bought the AVIC-N1, self installing it (about halfway done). Will post pics after it's finished. Note that I have the graphite interior so it matches just fine for me.

What stores are carrying it. I called Al & Ed's here in San Diego, and they said that they won't have it for two weeks and should run 2400-2500. Isn't MSRP only 2000?? WTF?!?!

Bought mine at Magnolia. Saw it on ebay for $1700, told the Magnolia sales person I'd buy it on the spot for $1800.

The store I work at just got 4 in and they work pretty well. To be honest, for the same money, most people are going with the Eclipse AVN unless you want the cool performance computer feature.

Re: Pioneer AVIC - N1

i was looking at the Pioneer AVIC-N1 as opposed to the Pioneer NAV-SYS910DVD...
I decided not to get the AVIC-N1 because of the dvd swapping involved... it will be a huge hassle, trust me.
Both units can be found at CHEAP prices at onlinecarstereo.com (i've never purchased from there though)
AVIC-N1

for 1699+free shipping

I am still torn between the 2 units... the AVIC-N1 seems to have the best/latest Nav system on the market.... but it requires dvd/cd swapping if you want to listen to music or play a movie (trust me it will become a HASSLE after a while).

whereas the NAV-SYS910DVD has a slightly older operating system, but it has 2 drives so that you can multitask without swapping. the only downside is the lack of "Vehicle Dynamics
Display" and colorful Detailed City Maps. But it comes with voice recognition hardware....which the N1 does not come with...its $75 extra

Re: Pioneer AVIC - N1

We sell a lot of of the N1, Navsys910DVD, and the Eclipse AVN. I have used them all and they are all good. The Eclipse is good because of its superior cosmetics in the dash. The N1 is good because it is cheap. The Navsys910 is good because it never requires disc swapping.

The Navsys is readily availabe, the N1 can be hard to get (we have 3 right now, and the AVN is on national allocation. We were Eclipse Retailer of the year two years in a row so we get high allocation.

All the units are good.

Re: Pioneer AVIC - N1

No remote.. I saw an optional one but not many features on it at all to say the least.. the touch screen is nice but read the following... sent this to X since he's the only one I know that also has theirs installed:

Hey what's going on??

I had my AVIC-N1 installed last week and love it except for one thing: I can't find where to do Disc Titling of my CD's I have a 6-disc in the trunk as well as an IP-Bus CD player that I want to be able to know what CD's are in my players to select the right one. Have you figured out how to disc titling on original ("store bought") CD's.. any information will help

I just finished installing my avic-n1 today. This is my first nav, so I'm havin fun.

Do any of you have the rear camera or the tv tuner installed? Do they work well? Looking at investing into these.
