Radar Detector

Just ordered a new 6mt from the dealer. Been driving an SUV for a while so I know I am going to want to stretch the G's legs when I get it.

That said anyone have an opinion on which Radar detector, how much they are, and should I go wired or unwired??

Thanks in advance for the feedback.

Re: Radar Detector

Personally, the best bank for buck is the Passport 8500 which you can get new for $260 (or less off ebay). Note that they have a new revision coming that's supposed to extend it's detecting range. Other people like the Valentine1, but it's only sold direct and costs $400.

Re: Radar Detector

If you want the best, go Valentine One (see link below for Car & Driver comparative test results). Be careful buying these off ebay; although you can upgrade, latest version is 1.8. Note, Valentine One is a radar "locator" vice just detector. Think AWACS for improved SA.

As for install, recommend hardwire with remote display in ashtray.
