high feedback from iPod

all I'm using is the RCA inputs in the console, and I'm getting alot of "feedback" or "noise" when a song is not playing. Anyway to avoid this??? Or is the only answer the iPod interface?? Thanks in advance for help!

You can try a noise filter.

What exactly is a noise filter? And where may I find one?
