Double DIN w/ Automatic?

Anyone out there have a double din unit with an automatic? Does the shifter get into the way of the head unit? I am curious because I'll be getting an 06/07 Coupe here soon and I'm picking out audio for it. Thanks in advance!

i have a eclipse avn 5435 and yes, the shifter does get in the way when you're in park. you have to be in neutral to allow for the head unit to open.

many people get the pioneer avic d3 because it doesnt have the problem like other DD do

I haven't heard of any HU getting in the way of the shifter. Two friends have DDs in their 5AT cars and there is plenty of clearance with theirs.
