Upgraded Bose?
Upgraded Bose?
Is the upgraded Bose system worth the extra 900 ducks?? Or would I be better getting the lesser system in my G35 and upgrading through aftermarket audio components? What route did most of you guys take? All opinions are more then welcome..Thanks
Re: Upgraded Bose?
Unless you care about dual climate, auto dimming rear view mirror and some other minor things, it's not worth the $900 premium. You're gonna spend another $400 just to get the double din parts (which doesn't include install). I only bought the premium package so I could get the car sooner even though I knew I'd be upgrading the sound system as soon as possible.
Re: Upgraded Bose?
It also depends how much you paid for premium package... I paid about $1400 after everything was said and done... so $1400 was a steal considering sunroof was $1000 by itself (lets even go conservative and say $800) your talking I paid $600 for Dual Climate Control, the Dimming Mirror, the Rear Reclining Seats, ahd the bose... at that price.. it was a no brainer

Re: Upgraded Bose?
For me, I can care less about homelink or dual climate zone for that matter...My passengers can learn to enjoy the temp that I like the car at...lol, I was thinking about just getting the sunroof option, and the aero package because I have a thing for this spoiler...Is the Bose stereo that much better in sound quality then the stock system?
Re: Upgraded Bose?
To me just depends on what you plan on doing. If you are going to keep all the speakers stock and just roll it then the upgrade is just okay. Personally I upgraded knowing that I'd be installing aftermarket... good thing too b/c I ended up putting in Boston Acoustic Pro's 6.5 components (custom mounting) into the location for the extra speakers (rear seat outer arm rests). Ended up doing that b/c I've got 2 JL w7's in the trunk and the sound pressure they were putting out was drowning out my rear fill effect... so in all it worked.
Long story short... will depend on what, if any, audio modifications you will do to the vehicle. Smartest thing: Plan it out ahead and set your budget!!!

Re: Upgraded Bose?
I just got my G35 coupe last week but couldn't tolerate the pathetic sound from the BOSE system. IMO, Infinity should feel ashamed to allow a system that sounds that bad into their product line.
Just today we finished installing a set of MB Quartz Premium 6.5 componets, one 8" MTX sub in a custom box, and powered all of these speakers with an Alpine MRV-F340 amp. We removed the two 6x9 "subs so that their openings would act as a pass through into the cabin but I left the rear 6.5 speakers inplace for fill from the BOSE amp. I'm still tuning it but the sound at this point is absolutely awesome!
