FM Antenna after DD Install? Help!

After my DD install, I used an adaptor for the FM antenna so it would hook back up into with the factory one. Well, not only is the range worthless but so is the sound. I think this might have been covered in the past but no luck finding it. Anyone have any good ideas or suggestion's out there that has installed the Double Din? Thanks a bunch.

Did you install a Kenwood unit? The FM reception on mine is so bad that I had to patch the Bose unit into the aux. input of my Kenwood to be able to listen to FM!!!
I have the Kenwood KVT-911 dvd/tv/tuner

The FM Antenna adapter is one thing, but you also need to make sure you hooked up the powered antenna signal wire. The G35 has a powered antenna so you need to let the car know when to power it up, otherwise it's not "on".

i don't recall but there is a wire that you need to connect from the after market head unit to the factory wire. I post the same issue before and some point me with a diagram showing which wire need to be connected.

Basically the antena need a power source. By removing the bose unit, you no longer supply the power to the antena. What you need to do is get the blule/white(Power antena) from the head unit and connect to one of the wire from the factory head unit (i think it was green/white). I am not sure this is correct for all car, but before you do it, check the thread that contain the information. Do a search on it, cause i don't remember exactly what the wire color.

I installed an Eclipse 8443. Hopefully I will locate your post on it. I remember seeing it awhile back but took forever finally to get the install completed it was pages ago. Thanks for the input guys. Everyone is always so helpful here.

Re: FM Antenna after DD Install? Help!

Just finished installing a Kenwood unit this evening. AM/FM reception is fine. I connected the power ant lead from the kenwood harness to the infiniti one. I also installed the Scoshe NDAB antenna adapter.
