Best Capacitor
Looking for a cap for my 500/1 pushing a 10w3v3. What would be the best but within budget? 1 or 2 farad? I'm also running a 300/4 as well for the mids and highs. Not sure if it matters.

Perfect. I washed my G today and ran the batt down so much I had to get a jump.....from a friggin Corolla. The guy ended up locking his keys in his car with the engine running and didn't release the hood. Talk about being in a bad situation. So there we were with a damn coat hanger trying to press the unlock button. I know a cap won't help that but i'm sure it'll make the bass sound tighter.
Capacitors aren't much use with JL Audio gear that features their R.I.P.S. (Regulated, Intelligent Power Supply). It adjusts output to remain at a constant level when voltage dips (11.0VDC-14.4VDC).

JL slash series amps (500/1, 300/4, etc...) don't need caps. In fact, they won't even use caps.
Of course, I admit, I have a 1.2 farad cap with my system, and use slash series amps. It looks nice and makes for nice bling. But it's useless.

Do you already have the 10w3? If not, save the cap money and upgrade to a 10w6. I'm running a 300/4 and a 500/1 to a 10w6 with no bass issues at all.
Don't waste your money unless you just want to say you have a 1 farad cap in your system.

I just got the w3v3. The bass sounds pretty good. I hear all this craziness about the need for a cap....so naturally I figured I would ask more questions to make sure. I got the bass **** for the 500/1 which come to find out it isn't a bass boost **** per se but a tuning tool paired with the Bass EQ portion of the 500/1. These amps take some extraordinary tuning to sound right.
