all radios the same? interchangeable?

alright so the damn stereo got the cd err fo thing goign on. car is no longer under warranty. i can get a stock bose one for cheap. so i dont know much about g35s really, but im figuring the bose is the upgraded version stereo right? so my question is can i change out the bose one for the 'base' stereo in the g35? or are they all the same? thanks in advance! 03 g35

why is that? can anything be done about that? are they all the same stereos? or is there a base one and the the bose system?

The bose and the base versions are different, and are wired differently. If I was doing a swap, I'd only risk doing so with the identical version.

The stock head unit blows, though. I've gone through several of them under warranty (CD ERR F0) and my most recent one has some sort of short in it which disables the buttons on the control panel.

I went with an after market radio and couldn't be happier.

If you have the non-Bose system, you can only replace the HU with the non-Bose HU (if you want to stay OEM). The Bose system has an amp in the trunk that the non-Bose doesn't have. The Bose system isn't really an upgrade anyway.

Another thing is that you have to remain within your year range. 03-04 are the same and 05-07 (coupe) and 05-06 (sedan) are the same.

actually.. the 03 and the 04 is not the same.. it looks the same.. but the CD slot placement is different.
