will i be shunned if..

I don't buy a 4080 enclosure and end up buying just a regular box that I get to fit in the trunk? I know it will probably look ugly, but $300+ for 1 box is a little pricey.. especially if I'm looking in to buying 2 subs, that's more than the price of the subs and $ I don't have.. any suggestions?

i'm running a regular box w/2 10's in it, I too refuse to pay so much for the 4080 box. But i'm currently teaching myself to lay fiber, so i can make my own 4080 box.

well one of my friends works on boats with fiberglass so idk if he might be able to make me up a box.. hes only 19 so idk if he'd be able to do it without having one to replicate.. anyways could you post some pictures? i want to see how much room, if any, is left, and whether its worth asking my friend to make something for me

yea' unfortunatly my car is parked about an hour away from me I can tell you that my box comes out just past the back of the trunk lid. so i still have about a foot of space left.. I went grocery shopping yesterday and was able to fit about 6 grocery bags + 2 gallons of milk still.

This setup was originally for my wifes' car, but she didnt want it. They're Pioneer Premier something... they're dual coil whatever i think. they go in about 5-6 inches deep. the box is about 10-12 inches deep.

yup. BTW, if you plan on installing this to the stock headunit, this is an excellent DIY writeup:

I used it to install my setup.

Goodluck'
