what size is the rear deck speaker in a sedan with bose?

i used the search but couldnt find anything... i thought i read it was 6x9, but then another thread said an 8. anyone got pics... my goal is to replace the stock speakers with infinty kappas 6x9 louspeaker, which i thought that was wierd with one 6x9 in the rear deck. i purcheased kappas 6.5 compnents for the fronts and 6.5 for the rears. i read that they match up good with stock bose HU. just looking to improve SQ but not into the big base sound anymore... i have an 05 sedan with bose hu. thanks in advance.

The coupe with the Bose system have two 6x9's in the rear deck that act as subwoofers. The sedans have a single sub in the rear deck that is about 8 inches. If you want to replace it, you need to find a 2 ohm sub made for free air applications (which means they are made to be used without an enclosure). However, the Bose amp probably won't put out enough power to drive it properly, so if you aren't going to add a new amp to the system to power the sub, you should probably leave it alone.

So would I be able to use a spacer and a 10'' assuming it's powered by another amp and have it look pretty much stock in the cabin? This also assumes I find a way to modify the trim piece in the trunk that covers the speaker?

You can, however, I highly recommend the sub being IB capable. Otherwise it's not goign to sound all that great. It also depends on the basket of the driver you are using. Some are wider or shaped different than others. You would also have to cut the carpet, or remove it from the bottom side of the rear deck.
