Factory Alarm question

Can the factory alarm be set to passively arm itself? I HATE having to actively arm the alarm when I get out of the car. You know how it is, I get home from work... Grab my laptop.. briefcase and so forth... walk toward the front door... Then CRAP my keys are in my pocket and my hands are full.

I skimmed through the owners manual but didn't see anything.

you want it to automatically lock when you get out? wouldn't that be bad if you get out, close the door, and realize your keys are inside :-/.. just get in the habit of hitting the lock button as you open your door?

I believe the Remote Auto Locking Function Mode would be what you're after:

Unfortunately it's a dealer programable option that can only be done with the Consult-II tool. There are several small tweaks that they can perform.

I'm a big fan of Compustar alarm/starters and I always active the automatic arming that they offer (most alarms offer this). Just like you said - laptop, kid, etc in hand and everything just takes car of itself. No more wondering if you forgot to arm the car as well.
