I've looked into that as well. After looking at the service manual, it seems the "chime" is actually in the gauge cluster. I wish I had thought about it when I had mine out.

The 'quick fix' is to take a screwdriver and remove the screw from the drivers side door pin. Without the screw the door pin won't ground, so the BCM won't see that the door is open, so the chime won't chime.

Ok. Like Kevin said this is a "quick fix".

Pros: It works and it's very non-invasive to the car. It can easily be done for special occasions.

Cons: If you were to leave it out, your windows will not go up or down that little bit when you open and shut the door. None of your lights will come on when you open the door.

This is definitely the way to go for those that don't need this feature but every once in a while.

Thanks again, Kevin.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that you MUST put the screw back in when you are done. Otherwise your windows won't drop, your domelight won't work, and your auto headlights won't shut off.

I guess it would also be possible to install a switch in the wire between the pin and the BCM. Hit the switch and no beeping.

I'm going to pull my cluster out sometime in the next few weeks to check this out. I'll probably end up putting a switch in. I actually did the screw thing last night so I could listen to my stereo while working outside for a bit. Wasn't that big of deal but a switch would be a lot easier.

Anyone figure this one out yet? Is there a fuse anywhere that controls this beep that can be removed by chance?

Push the LOCK button and UNLOCK button on the keyfob simultaneously
for more than 2 seconds. This will change the settings. There are only 2 settings, one with the horn and the other without.
Hope I've solved your issue, please update with results

uhh most cars you just turn the ignition to on. like OFF, ACC, ON, but dont turn over the engine

or is this something a coupe only has?

hold lock and unlock disables horn when you lock your doors
