Why would you want to completely seal your trunk from your cabin? Obviously you don't want your sub facing your trunk lid opening and ride with the trunk open but completely sealing doesn't make sense.

To the OP: A lot of people do not replace their 6x9s or their rear 6.5s, only the fronts and add a sub or two. I replaced my rears (not 6x9s) so I had a rear channel and could fade everything to the rear if my kids were watching a movie or listening to music.
