Here's the unit fully installed with the screen closed.

Re: Avic-N1 Install

Finally, here's the unit installed with the screen open.

As for how much the install cost, it was expensive. About $1200 for labor and paint. I had them install the TV tuner and voice recognition as well as a small speaker for the nav voice since I'm not doing away with the OEM Bose. Definitely could've done it for cheaper but I don't think I could've gotten a better result. Ernesto at Sound Innovations did a great job.

What you can't see in the pictures is the fact that there is nothing to see. The GPS antenna is under the dash as is the extra speaker and completely hidden. Also, the TV tuner antenna is completely hidden in the rear window. Nothing shows. Anyways, can't wait for the PAC Aux unit to come out so I can get rid of the FM modulator.

Then I just added a Stillen Cat back exhaust today. When will the madness end?!?!

Re: Avic-N1 Install

Dunno what the paint code is. I was told the painter custom mixed the color to match. It's really close. Only if you stare at the meeting of the two pieces can you notice a slight difference in shading.

Re: Avic-N1 Install

so, after all this, does your AC vents still work? How is the airflow to the outer vents? Inner vents? I was trying to install an AVIC-N1 in a similar manner but, when the audio guy came across airbox, I got kindda sketchy.

Re: Avic-N1 Install

Looks good....alot of work involved in going this route...I would go with the double din kit though...less work...less room for error.....less labor charges...
