NO NAV? Magellan Roadmate 700 fits perfectly.
Hey there,
Unfortunately I am one of the g35-ers that didnt opt for the nav. I picked up all the other options and I was kicking myself for awhile since I have a sales job (driven over 30k miles the first yr!), so the NAV is key for me.
I was looking into the Eclipse, Pioneer Avic-N1 (which would require a lot of fabrication and the Alpine units. The cost wasnt too big of a factor but I didnt want to change too much from stock. Was cruisin through Best Buy yesterday and saw the Magellan Roadmate 700, the newest portable, color nav that uses NavTech Mapping. I originally saw the Garmin and thought it was lame. The idea of small portable unit to me was not so hot. BUT, I liked the Magellan so I gave it a shot. Around $1k for it, has an internal hard drive so it doesnt use the Compact Flash.
Anyways, it fits PERFECTLY in the pouch that the Nav would have been ;( It sits in well, its easy to see with a decent sized screen.

Perfect alternative for people who leased without Nav and dont want to alter the car, OR people like me just looking for a minimal instal unit. I looked into the $2-3k units and was about to pay the $500 install that the place here charges.
Im happy with it... Just picked up Moda 19's, they look nice, Ill be puting pix up soon. Also working on the Stillen Stage 2 Supercharger and dual exhaust.
