ive searched and searched but haven't found anybody do this. ive found this cable which is and ipod to rca with power and ground for 20 bucks. can you just connect this to the back of the stock bose HU?

what are the inputs like to the aux in? would you need an adapter of some sort?

i would think if you can hook up the rca from this cable to the stock HU, use the power/gnd from the stock HU then you could charge the ipod and play it through the sat input. i dont car about steering wheel controls or text displays, i just want music. and if this works it would be a much cheaper solution than the pac adapter.

There are no RCA inputs at the back of the stock HU. The aux input has to go through the SAT input. Search for "ipod" and you will find several options.

 

can you go from RCA through an adapter to the sat input? i guess my real question is do you absolutely need the PAC adapter? if you dont want the features like steering wheel control and text display, can you just hook up an ipod (through RCA -> cable adapter) directly to the SAT input
