Car Audio Shutting Off

I recently had an amp and door speakers put in my car and they work and sound great, however, when my music in my car has been playing for awhile the audio on both the amp and my front speakers shuts off. The cd player stays on and no matter if i turn it off or turn the source it still is off until I restart my car. Anyone have any ideas?

It could be the amp overheating. Take it back to the person that installed it and have them figure it out.

^+1 overheating. where is the amp installed? if its not circulated well could overheat quick... in that case move it to more ventilated area or get a fan in there somehow.

could also be the coils in the speakers overheating or fried, but i say check amp first, since it takes hours for the speakers to overheat, but a uncirculated amp could be quick.

The speakers may also be wired to the amp improperly and the speakers may be providing the amp with a load that overheats the amp.

ya i was thinking it was overheating but wasn't sure why all of a sudden it was.... here's the deal I had them install a infinity component speaker set in the doors so I am thinking those are either wired up wrong or amp isn't getting enough power to them over a period of time....I'll have to give them a call tom marrow.
