Do you think putting it on the chassis of the car or close to the other wires would have any issues?

 

As long as the black plastic spacer fits over it, there won't be any interference with or from the wires around the box.

 

You mean the big black plastic cover that goes over that whole area?

 

Yes. Did you not take the plastic piece out to get to that area?

and yes, it does fit back into place now.
So, no worries with the chassis, right?

Honestly guys,
The big black plastic cover thing that goes over that area does not fit in flush... it stick out up a little from the corner where the ipod box is, but once you throw the mat on top, u can hardly tell. I never ever use my trunk, so I don't care.

SO, if the appearance and use of your trunk is very important, don't place it there.
