Need help here.

Ok, so I've been having this issue of when I leave my car sitting for 2 or more days, it won't start. I have to get a jump. I've been reading about how the Bose system is usually to blame for this and that it costs 1k+ to fix. My quesiton is, can I just put in a regular cheap aftermarket head unit, or will that not work b'c of the A/C connectivity? I've heard about the "din" coversion kit, but I really don't want to put a lot on money into a 5 yr old car.

thanks in advance...

before you go through all that trouble, why don't you take your car to an ntb or other place where they can check your battery. batteries that are on their way out will charge up and start your car, but will lose charge quickly while sitting. sometimes, even new batteries will be defective and not hold a charge. just an idea.

Pull the radio fuse and see if that keeps your battery from discharging.

If you don't want to convert to a double DIN kit, which is the only way to add a new radio, then your best option is to buy a used radio from someone here on Driver or one of the other forums.

^ This.

Determine what's discharging your battery before spending the money on anything.

So basically, if I just go out and buy a sytem from best buy, it wouldn't work? It has to be the double din?

You can install a single SIN head unit, but you still need the double DIN kit and AC controller. Read this thread for clarification. https://g35driver.com/forums/audio-video-electronics/224099-reason-why-you-need-jdm-ac-controller.html
