valentine one K band problem?

A few months ago I purchased my valentine one and I am more than pleased with it however I have a question about the K band alerts.

I reprogrammed my V1 according to the "Ask Mike report #3" but for some reason am still getting false alerts on K, I don't know if im misunderstanding the automute feature.

My settings are:

Radar detector is in Advance Logic mode.

2. (Kband) arrow is up so K band is enabled.
7. (features b - G enabled) arrow is down to enable.
8. (muted vol set by control lever) arrow is up (default)
B (down) C (up) (d) up for 30 second auto mute
E (stay muted at 4 lights) arrow is down
F (unmute at 6 lights) arrow is up
G (dont mute rear K band) arrow is up

so those are my settings, yet driving around for some reason I still get K alerts that are only 1 or 2 lights despite setting E and F set to stay muted untill 6 lights.

Have I messed up one of the other settings or is there something I am missing?

I'm not really sure but why not get in touch with Valentine directly? I used their service in the past and have had nothing but good experiences with them.

It took me a second to find their email it but I sent them one, hope to hear from them soon. In the meantime if anyone can shed any light on the situation they are more than welcome to =)

Just call them. I had a few questions when I first got my V-1 and they were very helpful on the phone. I've even heard that a few times some guys have gotten to speak with Mike Valentine himself!

Do you have the latest version Valentine One with 3.864 firmware? Make sure you are in little "l" mode or big "L" mode because "A" mode cancels all K band automute settings. Also, if you are sitting at a stoplight for longer than 30 seconds, K falses from doors will show an alert regardless of what number of leds (4, 6) you have it set for.

Yeah it was the "sitting at the stop light for longer than 30 seconds" part I didn't know. I just assumed that it wouldn't alert under 4 lights.

I got the email from them this is how they explained it:

"V1's k band automatic muting works by suppressing the audible and/or visual warning at the onset of a k-band alarm for a period predetermined by the programming features "b," "c," and "d." During a muted operation, programming features "E" and "F" are evaluated. "Thereafter, after the muting period expires, the unit will switch to normal operation. Therefore, If a detected signal lasts longer than the preprogrammed muting period (30 sec.), both the audible and visual alerts will activate regardless of the detected signal's level.

In the Logic mode, the automatic muting feature suppresses only the audible warning. However, in the Advanced Logic mode, both the audible and visual warnings are suppressed thus k-band automatic muting is performed in the background. I suggest testing the unit in the Logic mode to see if the operation observed is a result of signals lasting more than 30 seconds."
