i have the non premium system, and i dont think i have those 6x9 rear deck woofers, but i have it in the rear by the left and right side where you sit... so i think its a total of 6 speakers, 2 tweets, 2 mids and 2 rear speakers by the seat, so for those of you with the premium system, im guessing you have a total of 8 speakers? Do you guys know how many watts the premium and non premium system is rated at rms?

reason im asking is that i plan on keeping my rear factory speakers and connecting them to my jl 300/4 and i need to know how many watts they can take? Will it be okay if my components are 3ohm and my rear speakers are 4ohm? will i still get full power from the jl 300/4 amps to all those speakers since they're different ohm rating for my components than the rears?

by the way the rear speakers, (the one by the seat where you rest your arm, what size are those?

 

search the forums man for the size and wattage, that topic has been beaten to death... infiniti.com says the stock system is 160'ish watts, that would be Peak, of course.

Not sure about your ohm ratings..

You can always turn down the gain on the amp channel that powers the rear speakers.
If you get decent front speakers I don't think you'll want to hear the rears!

 

I ran the stock rears on a Crossfire 100x4. I have the premium system though, I'm not sure if the rear side speakers are different. Crossed over and not handling any sub bass, they seemed to be able to go fairly loud without any noticeable trouble. They're just rear filler. If I wind up frying them, I'll just replace 'em at that time, My ears are pretty sensitive to speaker distortion though, aside from equipment failures, I don't think I've ever actually blown a speaker in normal usage (although the crappy stock speakers would be a fun place to start... )

I agree, turn the gain down on the rears, it's just fill. You want your sound stage in front of you anyway....

According to JL the "slash" amps deliver the optimum power no matter the load it is facing... although I'm not sure if that affects the other two channels
