Aftermarket head unit and stock speakers and sound quality is poor

My cd changer gave me the push eject error and I went and replaced it with an aftermarket head unit Kenwood Excelon with USB and Bluetooth features I always wanted. But now the sound quality is quite different. I'm not really getting deep base on most songs though some songs are not bad. Also the deck goes up to volume 35 and to be honest I need to be at volume 20 to even hear which song is playing. To get it fairly loud I need to be close to 35. I think something is wrong and I've read some posts here about 2 ohm speakers etc but honestly I'm not a techie so I really don't understand all that. Do I need to buy new speakers or is there some setting in the deck to change to make it sound good again? It's very loud in treble but pretty low on base
My old deck was the Bose 6 disk changer on a 2006 g35 coupe. Thanks so much.

Did you use the PAC unit, or the Metra...?

Edit - for the speaker converter.

I could have told you it was formerly a bose headunit by the subject alone. Looks like the installer, whomever it was didn't do their research and failed to use the PAC ROEM-NIS2 adapter, and just ran a standard wiring harness. You can search the reasons why, as it's been explained about a hundred times now. The solution is to get a ROEM-NIS2 and wire it up correctly according to the guide in the main DDin install post - https://g35driver.com/forums/audio-v...urce-list.html

Well, asked and answered, no need to.

It's the Metra 7605. So this is the wrong harness? Gonna read that link you gave me. Thanks for the replies!

Okay I'm about to buy the pac roem-nis2 which hopefully will fix my issues. Few quick questions
Product details only list older Nissan cars. My car isn't listed.
It looks like it's got a bunch of wires coming out of it so it's probably another install job right? Nothing a non-techie can figure out how to install right?
Anyone know where in the Toronto area I can buy it? I have Wednesday off and it would be faster to buy in person if someone knows

That's the trim kit, not the harness. I'm pretty sure you've got the 70-7551 harness (or equivalent from another brand) back there.

Yes, it's the right part. Give the part and the instructions to whomever did the other install and tell them to follow it, because their intuition or previous install guide didn't work, and when they tested it after install they should have known they did something wrong but gave it to you incomplete. The guide is probably the most thanked post on this entire board by now, and with good reason, if I do say so myself.

This will come as a surprise to no one but I got that part installed and my problem is fixed! Sound quality is back to great again! Thank you all so much for helping me. Thanks to g35 forums for allowing me a medium to ask the question and thanks pac for making an affordable solution!
