totally generic stereo input question (USB to AUX?)

I did some searching, but so far I'm turning up empty, so I thought I'd throw it out to the knowledgeable folks here. I have ordered the PAC add-on for my stereo that will give me 2 aux inputs. I was wondering if there is any such device as a USB to AUX adapter? Specifically, I'd like the option of plugging in a flash drive and having it play mp3s through the stereo.

No. It doesn't work that way. You need a device to read the digital files and convert them to analog audio.

Yes, I did think of that, but figured someone would have developed such a standalone device.

For instance, I bought the IceLink Gateway for my wife's volvo that provides IPOD, USB, and AUX inputs. That, however, was pretty darned expensive. But it was our only choice for a Volvo.
