Is this a safe place for my amp?

I was wondering if this was safe? I took out the styrfoam peice on the spare tire, and put the amp there. My only concern would be is heat. Havnt seen anybody put it here. What do you think?

I assume you have enough slack in the wires in case you need to get to your spare tire? Do you have some cushioning between the amp and the metal of the spare wheel? I could see it rattling or moving around.

The amp won't get too hot under the mat but you should address a few things first.

1. Mount the amp on a board that has been cut to fit in the rim. I had that done on a prior car and it worked fine.
2. The center part of the floor will no longer have support and will sag. that may not be a problem for you though.
3. Make sure you have enough slack in the wires, like silvernole said.

1. Ok ill look into that, although its going to make it sit alittle higher
2. Right now the amp is pretty much flush with the tire, so the mats sit level. Although whatever I put in my trunk will be sitting on top of the amp
3. Theres enough
