Another Bose Upgrade
I just upgraded the Bose system with a new amp, speakers and a sub and it's a HUGE improvment.
Just some random thoughts I had on the whole experience.
I had previously upgraded just the front door speakers and tweeters that acutally made the Bose sound worse so I bit the bullet and did the rest.
Removing the rear deck 6x9s is a major PITA. These are by far the best speakers in the car and actually look pretty good compared to other stock speakers I've had.
The Ven4 LOC worked well after I repaired a soldering mistake on thier board. I would have expected such an expensive unit to be tested but I guess not.
If you replace the back seat speakers be sure to check the mounting depth. I used some Rockford Fosgate coaxials and they barely fit with only a few mm between the magnet and the sheet metal. I used 1&1/8" spacers to move them out as far as I could but I would recommend a thinner speaker.
This ended up being a 2 Saturday job. It's just a lot of work and I took my time because I was afraid of breaking all the snaps that hold the interior together. Well at least you don't need a lot of tools.
