Talking I didn't in fact kill my Alpine HU! ^^

So, I just spent all evening/morning (it's 3am now) trying to get my alpine 9885 to work in my 05' G35X. I think I killed the Alpine, and I'll feel lucky in the morning when I hook the stock stereo back up if I didn't kill anything in the car. The Alpine appears to be dead - the fuse isn't blown, but I can't get it to power in my old car either (with a confirmed working Alpine harness in it).

Edit: Thanks for the reccomendation, Goodfella. I checked them all over. Turns out it was a combination of my nervousness and my stupidity :P. The noise the stereo was making (that sounded like death to me) was in fact the cd tray checking for a cd. I just turned the car off immediatelly when I heard the noise, then when I wired the ground wire to the 'amp ground' on the metra harness instead of the chassis it didn't work. Also, the battery I was using on my test bench was dead, thus the stereo (of course) wouldn't power up over there either. Which is why I assumed it was completely dead.

Moral of the story: Wire the ground on the stereo harness to the chassis, not the 'amp ground' on the metra harness. And don't work on car stereos until 4am, you come to stupid conclusions ^_^.

So - does anyone have any reccomendations for a good Alpine repair shop? I found a few on google and emailed them, but if anyone has any experience with one... *sigh* .

Double check to make sure your wires are connected. Could be that one of them is loose or not soldered properly.
