Navigation System

How is the Navigation System on the G35 Coupe. Is it really worth $2000.

Re: Navigation System

No! It was already on my coupe, but I would not recommend it to anyone. It isn't user friendly, I would much rather have a DVD player.

Yes, it's worth it. I originally ordered the car w/out the Nav, but I found the exact car, but WITH nav the following week and I couldn't wait so I bought that one. I'm glad I did now. I use it ALL the time. Get it...

Re: Navigation System

If you can afford it, its worth it. If you're tight on your budget for this car, then skip it and go with an aftermarket Garmin GPS for less than half the price.

Also, if you primarily drive in an area you know well, such as commuting to and from work all the time, and rarely take road trips with the car, then the navigation probably isn't worth it.

I love it because I moved to CA from NY last year, so everyplace is new to me here, and I would be constantly looking at maps without it. It does work really well, and has lots of extra features like nearest restaurants, fuel economy info, trip computer, and warning system integration. My only complaint is I wish it were a touch screen. For $2,000 it SHOULD be a touch screen!

Re: Navigation System

I deliberately skipped the nav because I knew I'd change out the headunit. I got the AVIC-N1 which has three things I wanted that the oem nav doesn't:

1. touchscreen
2. dvd player
3. mp3 player

Re: Navigation System

I'm glad I bought mine without. More cubby holes for storage. I purchased a Garmin Ique 3600. Absolutely worth its weight in gold! Took me from AL to AZ with about 98% accuracy and 100% confidence! Never had I been so worry free driving in unfamiliar places.
