Where to tap into reverse signal?

Guys,

I'm getting ready to install my rearview camera soon. I will tap into the rear lamp signal for the camera itself, but my head unit is all the way at the front of the car and I was wondering if there's a place for me to tap into the reverse signal up there?

Thanks in advance!
B

I'm not sure if the reverse line for my HU is that long...guess I'll see when I pull it all apart. So I guess I just gotta hook everything into the line that connects the white reverse lamps, huh?

reverse signal wire locations for Avic 920bt

I installed my reverse camera into my 2005 g35 coupe for the AVIC 920bt today and found the reverse signal purple wire behind the kickpanel....its not the purple wire that is in the bundle of wires that you first see! Its in the black tubing in front of the fuse box that runs to the rear of your car(tail lights). I connected that purple wire to the back of the head unit. The camera's positive wire, I just wire to the rear purple wire behind the taillights. The Audiovox 200w looks great and tucks right under and it was a good price on amazon!Best buy wanted a rediculous amount for it.

Pull off the side covers located on drivers side where doer opens (panel that says Infiniti)
Pull up carpet slightly (in between door seal andnext to drivers seat) there will be a bundle of wires wrapped in a black guard. Locate a purple wire with one silver dot every 1.5" or so, tap into that wire. Voltage is about 13v when reverse lights are on. (If you wanna check what the wire looks like open your trunk and peel away seal for the trunk/boot (not top liner) you will see about 5or 6 wires. Red and pink and blue are brakes and tail lights, purple with 1 silver dot every 1.5 inches. The green wires are for turn signals I believe (not sure) I'll try to post some pics of my apexi smart controller where I had to link it to the reverse light signal.
