Bose Front Ohm

Anyone know the nominal impedance of the front Bose 6.5s? 2 ohm 3, 4? I'm trying to figure out if putting in a 3 ohm Orion in the front will work without it's own amp. The Orion's are 3 ohm and can run at 100 watts continuous and 150 watts peak. If I drop them right in with the Bose powering them, will I be worse off than I was before?

Re: Bose Front Ohm

I don't have the circuits to test nominal impedance, but the minimum of the 6.5 is 2.0, so it's likely that nominal is around 4 with the speaker actually doing something. Tweeter's minimum is 4.0 (but I imagine in use it doesn't create much resistance there). I have the 6x9s and the door speakers in parallel (should be a 2 ohm load per channel) and my Crossfire CFA404S amp has no trouble with it. While some Bose systems may utilize weird impedances, that doesn't seem to be the case with this system.
