How about these speakers

Either the Polk Audio MMC6500 or the BA Pro60. They are 6 1/2 and 6 3/4 and $179 and $399 respectively. Power handling is the same 125RMS. Question is will the 6 3/4 fit just fine in the 04 Sedan and which of these do you think will sound better, price not being a determining factor.

I just ordered the Boston Pro 60 new from sonicelectronix for 269+ship. The Bostons are listed as 6 1/2 on certain sites and 6 3/4 on others. I'm sure it will fit, but I will install them later this week and let you know of the results. Make sure you buy a speaker spacer from ebay just search g35 speaker spacer on ebay.

They should fit fine, expecially with an MDF spacer.

I hope you have an amp to power them. The Bostons like a lot of power and they are the wrong impedance for the Bose amp.

Ok I just bought the Polk for the lower of the twp prices listed. I will get the spacers as recommended. I have a RF600.4 power which is capable of sending 90X4 RMS to these speakers. Problem is I haven't used this amp in 4yrs since i took it out of my Maxima, and i actually want to get the Kicker instead since its rating is based off of 12.6V versus the RF 14.4 test volt making the Kicker more efficient and accepts differential signal. Am I on the right track?? I've been out of the stereo game for a while now and want back in.

What size speaker spacer should I get since they claim different size holes to accomadate a 6 1/2 speaker. see below:

Please specify hole size on payment. Different brand speakers require a different size center hole.......Please specify hole size. We have these spacers available with 5.00", 5.25", 5.50", and 5.75" center mounting holes to accomodate 6.5" door speaker.

If center hole size is not specified you will receive a pair with a 5" center hole.

for the polk mmc6500 crutchfield shows:
Cutout Diameter or Length (inches) 5 1/16

for good measure you can send the link of the speakers to the seller. Thats what I did. The seller has great customer service.

It's better to have an opening that's too small so you can open it up if you need to. A Dremel with the drum sander attachment works well on MDF.

That's true. Any recommendations on wich AMP has differential signal? I thought the Kicker I was going to buy had them, but I guess not. I have an old RF Power 600.4 90X4 I guess I will use that for now until I find one that I'm willing to pay for with about 120RMS X4. Iwant to feed these speakers max power they can handle (rms). Of course that's all relative on gain setting.

Why don't you just bridge the amp to the fronts and get rid of the back speakers? That should give you more then enough headroom.

If you mean balanced inputs the only ones Im aware of are zapco but they do not use an xlr and are pricey. Old adcoms had an xlr input if i remember correctly and they pop up on ebay every once and a while.

No subwoofer is going in this car so getting rid of the rear speakers is not an option for me. I plan on just running the 4 door speakers.
