IDMAX all the way... These subs really put out. I am going with a 10 in a modded 4080 box powered by a Zapco IForce amp (800 watts). These can be found for about $900. If you dont really need your trunk, go for the 12. You will be very pleased for half the cost.

IForce for 900 or the id max and iforce for that price? if it's just for the amp isn't that more than retail? lol.

The 12 doesn't need much room either. Recommended size is 1.3 cubes sealed.

Both can be had for $900 and less. True the 12 does not need much room, but with limited space in a coupe, a custom box will need to be made with compromise to trunk space. I wish there was a 4080 for a 12 to fit in a coupe.

Ah, yeah I forgot about that. I looked at the one for the 10" and figured maybe some gutting can be done but that won't work. Unless he went with 2 10's (1 on each side), but then he'd need to get about 1,500 - 2k going to them and hopefully there wouldn't be any cancellation issues. One is plenty though. Some people tend to understimate what a single sub, even a single 10 could do. But the looks on people's faces are just priceless

My 4080 will be modded with 2" added to baffle to create more space to fit the IDMAX10. There should not be any cancelling issues with a sub on each side but $$$ is more of an issue. 2 (4080) boxes and 2 IDMAX10's will run about $1500 plus 2 (800watt) amps for them at another $1000-1600. Starts to add up. The IDMAX10 is a powerful sub and hits good. I have 2 (12s) in my trunk now and the ID gets pretty close but does not get the lower frequencies. It does not sound like a single 10 as donpisto said.

Probably would be better off finding someone who does custom work or fiberglassing. Fiberglassing doesn't seem to be too hard. For just one enclosure I'd pay the money for it, but for 2, I'd probably do myself...it's not like you can mess up either and materials aren't that expensive. Sanding is the part that takes the longest though.
