newb questions midway through pac aai nis2 install

Hey everyone
I've beentrying to install my pac aai nis2 aux input in my 05 6mt sedan for the past 2 hours and I ran into some road blocks. My first question is where is the best place to put the pac box in behind the radio? I'm having a lot of trouble fitting my headunit back into its spot and I'm wondering if maybe cause of all the clutter back there the pac box is getting in the way. Where do you guys usually fit it? 2nd question When tapping into my cigarette lighter there are 2 black cables attached directly to the back of the lighter and a series of smaller black cables attached to something on the lighters side. I bought a pack of connectors from radio shack that have 1 in wire and then have 2 out wires. I plan on cutting one of the wires attached to the back of cigarette lighter. My question is which one do I cut?
If you guys have any advice for this ambitious(jokes) install I would really appreciate it. I want to get my car going again and Its been a very frustrating past 2 hours. Thanks again.

I am not sure if you can get the box behind the HU. I have mine in the center thing off to one side. You can also shove it under the center console armrest thing, there is enough room on the side. Let me know if you are really stuck, I can take pictures but it would require a little work.

Why are you trying to get power from the cigarette lighter? What are you trying to run?

I tapped into the power coming from the PAC harness in my install. What I am running is not a big power consumer.

Aight bro its mad easy actually theres 2 pieces the headunit and the shifter. Below the headunit theres a nice space to fix the box, its basically where you connect the power to the cigarette lighter right BELOW the headunit. Just look for it youll see it. The hardest part for me was finding the correct way to put the headunit back in. You should be alright but ask if you need help.

So i got the sound working and hte car is back together I was trying to get the voltage on the 2 wires coming out of my cig lighter and I swear i heard a little click, sounded like a fuse blowing, it doesnt work anymore.Anyone have any advice? I'm gonna try and take care of that later today.

Unless you smell smoke it is probably the fuse. I would check the fuse to make sure it is the problem before driving. Even if you replace the fuse it will probably blow again, it sounds like you have something else going on as well to cause the fuse to go.
