Din Kits Are TOO expensive

I feel that din kits are far too expensive for G's, I haven't found many other cars that require such expensive dash replacements, anyone else feel the same. The radio you buy might cost you 500-1000, and on top of that you gotta spend 250 on the mount. CMON!!!!!

Sometimes my G pisses me off, I got money, but damn, STUPID SH*T BE COSTING RIDICULOUS AMOUNTS OF MONEY.

Yup, not to mention, when you bring it anywhere to have it installed most stupid kids working at the stereo places have no idea where to began with a G35 audio system, so you have to go super high end installers, aah yah yaheee.

i feel your pain but we have no choice. if we want it to look good then we have to pay for it. I already bought a JDM DD kit and its just sitting here for now coz i dont have funds yet to buy a good HU.

The kit itself isn't that bad. It's the JDM AC controls that is what gets us. 200 alone for that. I wish we had the JDM DD stock instead of the whole unit with AC controls all together.

i just installed mines with the new DNX8120 from Kenwood I am pleased. I don't mind spending the 280 for the kit cuz the end result is worth it. I agree with WOADy its not a cheap car, if u wanna roll with the ballers then u must agree to all the costs that come with it.

Expensive yes but look at the end results, it makes the interior imo. At least you can say you got some JDM lol.

Stop being cheap.

The AC controller is the real expense to the DD kit. you have to have it. The trim piece is a little pricy, but it's not too bad. Even the Metra kits aren't all that cheap, but you do get cheap buttons with it.

Just be glad some Gs have a nice DD alternative. In some cars, it is impossible to add a DD head unit. Look at the 07-08 G35 sedans and the G37. There is no way to add a DD HU to them that I know of.

You don't necessarily have to pay to play, at least not the price that the kits go for. I understand the AC has a lot to do with it, can't complain about that. But there is an alternative, however, it does depend on one's skills.

You can always take the stock HU out and fabricate the the area where the HU will go, whether double or single din, by fiberglassing. It would definitely be cheaper, but it is more work. I guess one can always try it out to see how well it comes out to be and if it doesn't work good, you can always get the JDM kit, it's not like you are losing out on anything except for a few bucks, but you gain some experience.

I'm personally going to keep it simple and go with the JDM DD kit. It's pricey, but it's less hassle, less worry, and it gets the job done...not to mention, it looks great, not like some of the other kits I've seen for other vehicles.

Yeah I hear ya, I was thinking about that, why more people don't trying and cutting it themselves, I'm sure you could take it to a shop class in a vocational highschool and theyd get it exact.
