Looking to upgrade my stereo (slowly) - I have a 2004 Sedan with oem navigation and Bose - want to keep HU, and start by switching all stock speakers and adding an amp to power them..had a few question if anyone could plz help
1 - what size speakers are in my 04 sedan??
- I know about the amp by the spare tire and the manditory (i think) spacers that have to be used - http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Nissa...spagenameZWDVW --- how many spacers do I need??
2 - what amp should i get to power all thoz speakers? brand etc?
3 - after replacing the speakers/amp will it sound bad without a sub ?
last: I have a JL audio 250/1 from my last ride - is it useless in this set -up??
Any help is much appreciated - thx

The speakers in your sedan are 6.5 components in front and 6.5 in the rear. Coaxials work well in the rear for replacements.
You should get spacers for all 4 speakers.
The Bose amp is not near the spare tire in the sedan. It is under the rear window in the trunk. The coupe amps are to the left of the spare tire.
Amp type and power is dependent on what you like and what you can afford, just like speakers.
Your 250/1 will work if you want to only add a sub or if you want to have another amp to power the interior speakers.

K - went to stereo shop today and got some info and quote - he quoted me
2 - 6.5" boston accoustic & tweets for door pillar
2 - 6.5" boston accoustics for rear
take out the other 6.5" on rear window deck and leave empty for sub air port from sub in trunk
1 - 12" bouston accoustic G112-4
alpine amp to power all speaker except sub
and my own jl audio 250/1 amp to power sub
1 - jl audio cleansweep - says it would make a huge difference
all installed for 2400 plus tax
opinions???

That sounds like a lot of money with no head unit.
If the installer taps into the Bose signal before it enters the Bose amp, there is no need for a Cleansweep, which will save you some money. There are instructions about adding an audio system to your stock Bose radio.
