Installing a DD DVD

I'm going to be getting a double-din dvd player into my 2003 G35 sedan this weekend. The place where I'm getting it installed at will be using a Scosche dash kit. They said that I would be able to use the factory a/c controls unlike how the metra kit already has the a/c controls with the dash kit. Can anyone confirm if the factory a/c controls do come off and can be used on another dash kit? In the picture of the book I saw of the kit was only showing the 05-06 dash, so I was unsure if it would be the same. Thanks for the help.

Never saw this kit. IMO you'd be better off purchasing the JDM double din kit, with climate control and finsher. It retains the factory look of the car and doesn't give it that cheap ricey look that the Metra kit gives.

Well I don't have the money to get the jdm kit right now and I'm getting a pretty good deal for the radio and dash kit.

Better off waiting and saving for the JDM kit. Aftermarket kits are just horrible and cheap looking imo. You wont regret it.

It would be nice if I could, but my girl drives the car right now and she's spending her money to get it done. So like most women, she's not down with waiting.

There is no practical way to use the OEM AC controls with a DD radio. I think the shop you're using has never done a G35 HU installation.

The cuircuit board is one piece with the radio and AC controls on it. It is about the size of the front of the radio. You would have to cut it and solder wires to keep it intact while you bend it 90 degrees and somehow hide it in the dash above the new DD HU.
