what aftermarket alarm is this?
does anyone know what kind of alarm this is and how well it is?

that's the viper 790 xv alarm system. the lcd remote works from 1/4 mile range. i shows you on the lcd which alarm system was triggered on the car. also, it has a remote start and unlock feature of 1/4 mile away. any command you select will send a relay back to the lcd notifiying you it completed its task. i'm pretty sure it has a button and/or phone number to call that will disable the engine. another nice feature is that the lcd vibrates notifying you that the alarm has been triggered. the best part is the unit cost between 200 and 250. check out this website...

that can also be Clifford's RS3 which is excatly same as the viper's, both made by DEI, Clifford have newer version 3.5, instade of that brown color remote, it have carbon fiber lQQk, it works pretty well, has decent ranger 120~150 yards, maybe under perfect condition just maybe 1/4 miles, you can program the remote to illuminat, duel stage trigger sensor, sound or vibrate mode, remote starter, automaticlly lock and unlock's the door, most importanly the alarm page, so you will know if its your alarm going off, the biggest draw back is, you need to replace the battery every 6 or so weeks.

It could also be the Viper 690XV, same as the 790, butwithout remote start. I believe that that is last years remote, and this years is smaller, and comes with a belt clip - most likely because they had reliablity issues with those remotes.

Oh, and one more thing. According to DEIs website, niether the 690xv or 790xv will work on that car. They recomend installation only on FULL SIZED cars. They have a whole line of mini car alarms in the works, should be out soon!
